Gunsight Notch Loop

1. Start from the Pine Creek Trailhead in Red Rock Canyon.
2. Start down the hill and turn left at the second turnoff for the Ecology trail.
3. The trail can be hard to follow when crossing the Pine Creek but you are essentially working your way across the creek and up the other side.
4. Follow the trail and work your way toward Oak Creek and follow that toward Rainbow Wall.
5. Eventually you will get to a spot with a rope. You can get up without but it does make it easier.
6. The notch up to the top is longer than you might expect. Toward the top is a rabbit hole.
7. Once at the top of the notch, the peak will be to your right and your descent route down into Gunsight Notch Canyon is in front of you.
8. Once you are done at the peak, work your way back down and follow the cairns down the canyon. There is a bit of zig-zagging but it's pretty intuitive.
9. Once you get to the bottom of the canyon you will now be in the Pine Creek canyon system. Turn right and follow the creek until you get back to the Pine Creek Trail.
10. Take the trail back up to the Pine Creek Trailhead.
